Day 7: Four Books

Ok I have been waiting to do this day since I started the challenge.
It's actually one of the reasons I decided to do the challenge in the first place.
But I have to admit deciding on just 4 of my favorite books is super hard, because I have lots of favorites.

Four Books:

1. Pillars of the Earth

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

3. Anne of Green Gables

4.  The Help

These are some of my favorites for different reasons.  Each one is amazing and needs to be read at least once in everyone's lifetime!

In closing:

Happy Reading

Day 6: Five Foods

Alrighty to continue my 10 Day You Challenge today I get to tell you

Five Foods:

1. Kettle cooked photo chips
SO yummy! You can't have a sandwich without chips and the kettle cooked ones are the best! :)

2. Flautas from Taco Cabana
iIn Texas we have this place called Taco Cabana and they have the best flautas EVER.  Taco C does not exist in Florida and I'm having serious withdrawals.
Actually flautas are my go to food at any Mexican food restaurant.

3.  My mom's pasta dish.
Not sure what the actual name is, but she found it on the Food Network, Giada made it.
It has italian sausage, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, pasta, parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
It is TO DIE FOR!

4.  Red Velvet and Cream Cheese anything.
Cake, ice cream, cupcakes, cake balls....YUM!

5.  Ramen Noodles
Ok I know this one is probably gross to many of you. But I can't help it.
I love Ramen, but only the chicken Ramen.  Throw a little cheese in it and it's perfect.

Now I'm hungry!

Have a great Monday friends! :)

We Remember

It's hard to believe that it has been 10 years since that horrific day.

Y'all know what day I'm talking about.

I was in 8th grade and did not understand at all what was so significant about those terrible events.
"What are the World Trade Centers?"
I asked my mom as I watched her sitting on a bench in the girls locker room staring at the television in absolute horror, with tear streaming down her face.

When it was finally explained to me, I still didn't really understand the significance.
Not like I do now anyway.

I went to New York in the summer of 2008.
It was just for one day but I knew I wanted to visit the site to pay my respects.
I visited the memorial museum and walked around the site.
The plans for the beautiful memorial that is being unveiled today was in the early stages of planning and there were boards with what the site would look like in 2011.
I remember looking around and seeing all the military personal, and several large fences enclosing where the WTC's had stood.
There were a ton of people standing around and no one was saying a word.
Either they were just starting at the fences or they were reading about the memorial.  Some were crying.
It was so strange being there, but I'm so glad I went.
It was a very moving site.

So on this, the 10th anniversary, I just wanted to remember the day.
Honor the lives lost, the heros of the day, and our nation itself.

Day 5: Six Places

Today I get to tell you 6 places.  I'm not sure how significant these places are supposed to be.
So I'm just gonna give you places I LOVE!

Six Places:

1. Main Street USA
Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World

2.  Wizarding World of Harry Potter

3.  England (either the countryside or the cities)

  4.  Movie theatres

5.  Garden View Tea Room

6. Barnes and Noble

Have a great weekend! :)

Day 4: Seven Wants

Seven Wants:

1. I want Texas and Florida to be neighbor states.  Sadly this can NEVER happen, but hey a girl can dream right?

2. I want to fall in love.  The can't eat, can't sleep, over the fence, world series kinda love!

3. I want a kitten or a puppy.  But not until I have a space big enough.  Well I do have the space for a kitten but I really don't want a litter box, so yeah.

4.  I want my friends and family to be happy.

5. I want to teach overseas.  This will get me back to England and to see the rest of Europe!

6. I want a new car.

7.  I want my Pottermore welcome e-mail so I can get my early access.

I'm dying to get into that website!

Book Club Friday: The American Heiress

If you want to participate in Book Club Friday just head over to Blonde...Undercover Blonde with
Heather and play along.  You'll find a whole bunch of fun books to add to your reading list!

Ok so this week I'm sharing:

Here's the synopsis:

Be careful what you wish for. Traveling abroad with her mother at the turn of the twentieth century to seek a titled husband, beautiful, vivacious Cora Cash, whose family mansion in Newport dwarfs the Vanderbilts’, suddenly finds herself Duchess of Wareham, married to Ivo, the most eligible bachelor in England.
Nothing is quite as it seems, however: Ivo is withdrawn and secretive, and the English social scene is full of traps and betrayals.
Money, Cora soon learns, cannot buy everything, as she must decide what is truly worth the price in her life and her marriage.

This historical novel one was good. Real good.
It did take a few chapters to get me completely sucked in but I really liked it once I got into it.
Usually with this genre I can pretty much predict what is going to happen by the end.
I dunno what it was about this one though, maybe the writing style or something, but I had no idea how it was going to end.

Would she or wouldn't she?
Does he or doesn't he?
Will they or won't they?
If you wanna know what I'm talking about when I say those things?

Then go read it! :)

Day 3: Eight Fears

Time for Day 3:

Eight Fears

1.  Breaking down on the side of the interstate...alone...at night.  Seriously every time I see a car pulled over on the side of the interstate, I pray that it never happens to me.  It's terrifying.

2.  Cockroaches and crickets.  (I shudder just thinking/typing about them). Crickets more so then cockroaches.  No idea why, but crickets make weird noises and they are just ew.

3.  Something happening to my family.  Especially now that I live so far from them.  Example, two nights ago I got a call from my mom and she left a message.  Just by the tone of her voice I knew something bad had happened and my heart jumped into my throat.  It was NOT a good feeling.

4.  Messing up at work.
I have always hated getting trouble.  I never went to detention, never got sent to the principals office, never really got in trouble at home, nada!  So I'm terrified of messing something up at work.  I'm terrified that my drawer will be over or short and I have no idea why, I'm terrified of messing up a transaction and it be too difficult to fix or of getting a discussion from one of my managers.
Just got to make sure none of that ever happens.

5.  Forgetting to turn off/unplug my straightener or curling iron and my room or bathroom catching fire and burning down my apartment.  This hasn't happened in a while but it's still scares me that it will happen.

6.  Disappointing my family and friends.

7.  Being left behind.
(3 best friends getting married within months of each other, scary and hard).

8. Never falling in love.
This is my number one biggest fear.  And it is something I think about all the time and don't really share with others.  In fact it's taking a lot for me to admit it now.  I've erased it about 10 times.
I want someone to love and someone to love me back.

Wow, admitting your fears is A LOT harder than I thought it would be.
Especially the ones that are hard to admit to myself.
