It's Friday!

Wow another week is gone.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that is is fixin to be the second week of July!

Before you know it we're all gonna be showing off our favorites for the fall.

But lets stick with the present shall we.

Time to share my 5 favorite things from this week:

Photobucket

one.
Obviously seeing the sea turtles is number one on this list!
To read all about my sea turtle adventure click here.

two.
I got a new bed frame!!
For the last year, yes 1 YEAR, my mattress has been sitting on the floor.
With a box spring and the mattress.
I finally got tired of it and decided to out my big girl panties on and buy a new frame.
I got this one from IKEA and put it together with the help of my roomie Sara.

I think I need to take out the box spring though cuz I am super high up now.
I'm pretty tall and when I sit on the bed my feet don't touch the floor.

three.
Suz drew a picture of me one night.  And I think it's hilarious.
Pretty accurate save for the big hair and red lips!

four.
I spent the first half of my 4th of July like this:

And the second at work getting yelled at because the Magic Kingdom had reached capacity and they weren't letting any one in from about 7:25-8:40 and watching this happen:

We got to go out and watch the fireworks!

You could feel the boom in your chest and it looked like the sky was having a seizure.

five.
Yesterday, Suz and I went to Texas Roadhouse!
Yes, I found one in the state of Florida.
It was heavenly.
(even though the waitress brought me Chicken Fried Chicken, rather than Chicken Fried Steak.)
The sweet tea and the rolls totally made up for it.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! :)

I Like Turtles

Last Saturday night after work, a group of us from Epcot drove out to the Disney Resort in Vero Beach, Florida.

The resort is about an hour and half from Orlando and one of their biggest draws is the fact that hundreds of sea turtles make their way to this beach to lay their eggs.  Each night guests have the chance to sign up for night walks.  During the night walks you have the opportunity to watch the sea turtle come to land, lay their eggs, bury or camouflage them, and then make their way back into ocean.  If you're really lucky you may even get to see one of the nests hatch.  Meaning there would be hundreds of baby sea turtles making their way back into the sea.

Our group got the opportunity to see this happen!

Well not the baby turtles (that would have been even more amazing), but we did get to watch a sea turtle lay her eggs!!

Most of you are probably thinking, "EW! Gross!"

But actually it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

Here's a breakdown of how the evening went:

When we got to the hotel our first stop was to the restaurant Shutters, where I stuffed my face with this:

Then at 9 o'clock we headed over to meet up with the rest of our group to get some very important turtle egg laying instructions.

During this part, our guide told us that there was a chance we wouldn't see any turtles.
And that the previous night, they spent an hour doing Disney trivia and even had a mini talent show.

Luckily for us, that didn't happen.

After we got through hearing all the dos and don'ts, our guide got the call!

A TURTLE HAD HIT THE BEACH!

Obviously we were all ecstatic.

So we trouped out, single file to the place where the turtle had decided to lay her eggs, waited until we new she was all settled in and then got to go up and watch her lay!

We couldn't take any pictures because it might disturb her while she was doing her thing.
(Which believe me was no easy feat! I was DYING to take a picture.  But I restrained myself)

This picture gives a pretty good idea of what it looked like though.

It was so amazing!
It took her about 40 minutes to lay all 125 eggs (you read right!  Sea turtles will lay between 100 and 125 eggs in one sitting), then we watched her cover the nest and turn around and make her way back to the ocean.

Our group even decided to sponsor the nest the sea turtle made!  And we'll be able to watch the progression of our babies online.

Our next adventure with the sea turtles will hopefully happen in 60 days, which is when the eggs from our nest will hatch!

We spent the whole time saying, "I Like Turtles" just like that little zombie kid from that news video that pretty much everyone has seen.  And if you haven't click here and you'll get a special treat.

Hilarious!

And with that.....I LIKE TURTLES!

Have a great Thursday!

High Five For Monday

It's Monday!

No seriously, it's my Monday.

My weekends are Wednesdays and Thursdays, therefore, in my world Tuesdays are Friday and Fridays are Monday.

Confused yet?

Well don't worry, I'm gonna stick with Friday being Friday like the rest of the world and link up with Lauren @ From My Grey Desk for:

Photobucket

one:
We had a family dinner on Tuesday night.
With Parmesan chicken pasta, a yummy salad, and Dump Cake for dessert.  What's Dump Cake?  You'll find out soon!

two:

I survived my very first Tropical Storm (Thanks, Debby!).
Seriously we didn't see the sun for like 5 days.
Oh and my car has a leak somewhere underneath the passengers side, so my floor board is soaking wet and it doesn't smell to pleasant.
I need a new car (like yesterday).

three:
My cousin posted an old picture of the two of us.  So I asked her send it to me.
She ended up sending me two.
And since I've never showed y'all any pictures of me as a little girl.
Today's your lucky day.
(It's also inspired a new idea for a post!)

That's my brother, my cousin Jordyn, and ME. :)

And here we have me, Jordyn, my sweet Grandmother, and my cousin Amanda. (Who's getting married in July!)

four:
Painted my nails my favorite nail color.
RED!
It's just so classy and fabulous.

five:
Yesterday I tried out a new hair style.
I got the style from one of my favorite bloggers.  I'm sure you all have stumbled across her blog before.
I'm talking about Kate from The Small Things Blog.
She has such great style and of course hair!
I've watched all her hair tutorials and finally decided to try my hand at one.
This was the result:

It's called The Braided Back.

Not exactly what hers looks like but hey I tried!  :)
Thanks Kate! :)

Well I hope y'all have a great Friday while I go out and have a great Monday! :)

Back in the Swing

I took a little hiatus from blogging.

But I think I'm ready to get back in the swing of things.

Hopefully I'll get back to posting every week day.

So to kick off my return, I'm going to link up with Neely from A Complete Waste of Makeup and Amber from Brunch with Amber for:

Its Ok Thursdays

 It's Ok........

To love when friends come to visit.
Two of my best friends came to Orlando for visits.

Ashley and Kyle came as part of their Honeymoon!
I was able to get them on my Segway Tour. :)

And Ashtyn and her family came for 5 whole days!

To be totally in LOVE with your job!
I'm back working in Guest Relations at Epcot and could not be happier!
Be prepared for many a post about this one!

To be incredibly over the moon happy that the little boy, RJ, from this post is now TUMOR FREE!
His family is coming to Disney World tonight as part of Make-A-Wish.
There is still a pretty long road ahead but for now he is a healthy and happy 4 year old!
I can't wait to show them all the magic that is Disney World! :)

To be sad that my roommate has decided to go home for 4 months starting in January.
That's right, Suzanne, who is on the blog fairly often because she's my best friend and roommate here in Florida.  I won't go into too much detail as to the exact reason she's leaving but job wise she is just not happy.  She said she just need a change in scenery for a little while.  While I'm incredibly sad that she's leaving, I know this will be good for her.  She needs to be around her family for a little while.
And like she keeps telling me, she IS coming back in January. So I'm just looking at this as she's taking a hiatus from Florida for 4 months.

To be excited to be going home for entire week at the end of July.
My cousin is getting married on July 21st so I'm going to meet the family there first and then I'll be home for an entire week!  WOO HOO! So excited to be going back to The Lone Star State for a few days!

(Ok that was more of a life update, now on to more frivolous things)

To love major sales at my favorite boutique.
I got this adorable dress from Francesca's Boutique for my cousin's wedding.
And it was only 7 DOLLARS! :)

To think it's hilarious that they are showing Laguna Beach on MTV and calling it #RetroMTV.

To be excited that I'm only 1 person away from having 100 followers on Instagram.

To be sad that while I was on my little blog break, I lost 2 followers.

To be obsessed with a British reality TV show.
If you have never seen/heard of The Only Way is Essex. Go to Hulu as soon as you can and watch at least the first episode.

To be ECSTATIC to see Magic Mike at midnight tonight! :)

Boy does it feel good to be back!

Hope you all have a great Thursday.

I know I will because of Magic Mike.

Terrible Blogger Award Goes To....

ME!!!

Yet again I've been a terrible blogger.

I just have not had the umph to sit down and write.

No idea why.  Especially considering that I still sit down and read everyones blogs every day.

Have no fear though, I know I will be back soon!

 It's just this week.

I'm ending my internship this week and starting new again on Sunday with Guest Relations.

So till then let me leave you with a movie trailer.

I saw the preview to this movie a few weeks ago and I have to say....

I can't wait to see it.

Again I promise I haven't abandoned my blog.

I'm just taking a small break!

Expect me back in full blogger mode starting Monday! :)

Till then friends!

High 5 for Friday!

It's June.

Weird, I know.

Since it's June, that means that I have almost been living in the Sunshine State (at least I think Florida is called the that) for a whole year.  A WHOLE YEAR!  When the heck did a whole year go by?

The past year has been incredible and I have loved every minute of it.
I can't wait for the next year to go by and see all that is in store!

But for now let's celebrate the 1st of June with a good ol link up!

Photobucket

1.
This is my second to last week working with the YES Program.
Now why is this something to high 5?
Well I've loved my internship but I'm ready for it to be over.
I've decided that if I'm gonna teach, I would much rather be in the classroom where my rules apply.
Plus teaching the same thing everyday is getting old.
And I'm excited to get back to Guest Relations.

2.
My friend Katie came in town and we celebrated her birthday at one of Disney's best restaurants, Ohana!

3.
Because of tropical storm Beryl it has been raining all week in Orlando.
(Today too!)
As long as I'm not working and having to take a bunch of kids around the Magic Kingdom in the this rain, I love it.
Rainy days at home are my favorite! :)

4.
I'm reading a new book, The Lovely Bones.
So far I love it.
It is incredibly sad and thought provoking. I plan to write a mini-review on it when I'm done!

5.
I got to eat this early in the week.
It is Pineapple and banana bread pudding with a caramel like sauce!
Seriously, just looking at it again is making my mouth water.
YUM!

One last thing:

I'm seeing Snow White and the Huntsman tonight.
I'm dreading seeing Kristen Stuart but am super excited to see Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth!
They will def be what makes this movie good.

Hope y'all had lots of high 5 worthy events this week.
Have a great weekend! :)
