Book Club Friday: Sarah's Key

I'm really getting into the whole link up with other bloggers thing.

It is super fun and is introducing me to some other really great blogs out there.

So today I'm linking up with Heather from Blonde....Undercover Blonde for

I am the biggest book worm EVER so when I found out that Heather does a link up for book reviews I knew I had to jump on that bandwagon!

This will definitely be a regular thing for me from now on!

This week I'm sharing:

Here is what the book is about:

Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten year-old girl, is brutally arrested with her family by the French police in the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup, but not before she locks her younger brother in a cupboard in the family's apartment, thinking that she will be back within a few hours.
Paris, May 2002: On Vel' d'Hiv's 60th anniversary, journalist Julia Jarmond is asked to write an article about this black day in France's past. Through her contemporary investigation, she stumbles onto a trail of long-hidden family secrets that connect her to Sarah. Julia finds herself compelled to retrace the girl's ordeal, from that terrible term in the Vel d'Hiv', to the camps, and beyond. As she probes into Sarah's past, she begins to question her own place in France, and to reevaluate her marriage and her life.

This book is amazing.
Before reading this I had no idea that any Jewish families had been rounded up by French police during World War II.
Just a forewarning though, this is not a happy book.  So be prepared to cry a least once, if not twice while you are reading it.  But I promise, you'll love it.
It is definitely one book that you wont be able to put down until you finish the whole thing.

They've even turned this book into a movie. Which I will be seeing at the first possible opportunity.

Happy Reading!
