That's my training group.
We're a mixture of Interns and Cross U's.
(Cross U means that those people already have a job elsewhere with Disney and they are Y.E.S facilitators on the side)
We all learned a program called, Properties of Motion.
It's a Physics program.
Now let me just say, I hate Physics.
HATE IT.
It was the only class in college that I ever dropped.
So when I found out I was going to be teaching not just one but two different Physics programs I kinda freaked out a little.
Nonetheless, I went in on my first day excited and eager to learn.
First day was easy peasy.
Went in and actually took the program then did some housekeeping stuff in the main office.
Days 2-5 were all about learning the actual program.
We get to take the students on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom.
At each attraction we go over a different topic in Physics.
Space Mountain it's all about potential/kinetic energy and speed, velocity and acceleration.
Splash Mountain covers Indirect Measurement.
And finally Pirates covers Pneumatics and Hydraulics using our Audio Animatronics.
We keep it as simple as possible. We're not there to teach the kids just show them how what they have already learned in their Science classes are applied in real work situations.
IE. How our Imagineers have to use Physics in the creation of our attraction at Disney.
The Y.E.S. programs number one goal is for the students to HAVE FUN.
